Ziwa rhino sanctuary is located in Nakasongola district, happens to be the only place that
habitats wild Rhinos, in 1997 rhino fund Uganda was established with the sole aim to reintroduce
the Rhinos into Uganda’s wildlife, in 2005 the first Rhinos were brought in Ziwa rhino sanctuary
a private ranch donated by a well wisher as a temporal home and breeding area for the Southern
White Rhino under the Rhino Fund International, the breeding program is under way, with
growth in number currently making twenty one(21) Rhinos, A visit to Ziwa rhino sanctuary will
permit you a chance to trek the Southern White Rhinos from the wild.

Ziwa rhino sanctuary day tour in Uganda Activities

Early departure at 7am in the morning from Kampala heading north of the capital, the sanctuary
is about a 2 hrs and 30 mins drive from Kampala, Early morning pick up from hotel or your
place of residence to avoid the traffic through Luwero and then on to Nakasongola Savannah as
we travel to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary do Rhino tracking, usual time spent with the rhino is one
hour with a guide to accompany you to explain the animal behavior. After trekking, have lunch
at the sanctuary and then head back to Kampala city arriving late evening, Rhino sanctuary day
